Post-Christmas Shopping

We all know stores are busy before Christmas, but that rush doesn’t stop when the holiday is over.

We all know stores are busy before Christmas, but that rush doesn’t stop when the holiday is over.

With kids still out of school and some people still off of work, the mall seems like the place to be to spend all of those gift cards people got yesterday.

Store managers at Meadowood Mall say the next couple of days are going to be a little crazy:

“We’re pretty steady all year but Christmas definitely ratchets up a lot. So we prepare for it all year though. Buying and purchasing we’re always thinking about Christmas all year long,” says Owner of Games Galore Stephen Janecka.

“I would say November and December is definitely when we see the most foot traffic. We always have a lot of people. But sales I would say around the winter time is when we get the most people in,” says 4 Ever Sports Manager Bryce Morris.

Now not every gift is a winner, mall staff says they’re seeing a lot of exchanges as well.

“We are extremely busy while we are open in the mall (November, December and most of January) because most of what we sell are Christmas presents. With Sheepskin boots and slippers, parents and friends don’t always know the right size of the foot of their loved ones. So we get a lot of exchange.

Also, people don’t always get what they asked Santa Claus, so they come back to the mall and come to us to get their wish, a most wonderful sheepskin gift.” says SheepskinGift Kiosk Manager Jay Philip.

If you’re looking to make returns or exchanges here are some tips to follow:

1. Don’t open the box

2. Keep the original packing intact

3. Don’t throw away your receipts

4. Bring your I.D.
